What does the course entail?
The Humanities learning area has four distinct disciplines that have been developed from the Australian Curriculum. Students are introduced to these contexts over the course of the middle years of school. History and Geography are completed each year as stand alone units. Embedded in these units are aspects of Economics and Business, and Civics and Citizenship. The latter two disciplines are more prominent in Year 9 and 10 courses. During the middle school years, a particular emphasis is placed on the development of existing skills as well as the introduction and development of new skills that will assist the students with their learning in the years to come. Humanities and Social Sciences consists of four inter-related disciplines: Civics and Citizenship, Economics and Business, Geography and History. Concepts covered will include:
