"St Maximilian Kolbe's story is one that teaches us about being humble and kind - this message is carried on through to our RE classes and Retreat"
What does the course entail?
BELONGING Religious Education in Year 8 at Kolbe explores the importance of community and the way our Catholic community brings us together. It is when we come together as a community that people begin to feel closeness, love and comfort, which are important signs that God is working in our lives. Kolbe Catholic College prides itself on its community spirit and endeavours to include all students in the various aspects and opportunities that make up College life. SEARCHING - THE NEED FOR GOD Students examine the Christian approach to happiness and investigate how journeying towards living a life with Christ can lead us to true happiness. The program identifies ways in which God reaches out to human kind, how we may recognise this call and how prayer can be a powerful way to nurture our relationship with God. REACHING OUT - GOD'S ORIGINAL PLAN Students will explore the purpose of creation and the Catholic perspective of justice. Students will understand the role of Jesus in guiding humankind on the stewardship of creation. LOOKING IN - THE IMAGE OF GOD Students will also explore Catholic teachings, on growing in the image of God and the ways this can translate to everyday life. |
