Sculpture Design Do you enjoy working with your hands? Are you interested in developing skills in designing 3-dimensional artwork and then creating it? In the Sculpture Design course, you will work with a 3-dimensional art focus, with elements of 2-dimensional work integrated into projects. Foundation art skills will be taught with a self driven aspect of discovering your own passion, style and ideas. You will be introduced to the elements and principles of Visual Art and Design allowing you to explore and develop a range of critical and creative skills. Studio example areas include, but are not limited to; textiles, ceramics, various forms of sculpture using a range of media, eg wire, papier-mâché, 3D objects and more. Studio Focus Are you interested in developing your art skills? Do you enjoy working creatively in an inspiring space? Studio Focus works with a 2-dimensional art focus, with elements of 3-dimensional work being integrated into projects. Foundation art skills will be taught with a self driven aspect of discovering your own passion, style and ideas. You will be introduced to the elements and principles of Visual Art and Design allowing you to explore and develop a range of critical and creative skills. Studio Design media examples include, but are not limited to; painting with acrylics, lino prints, silkscreen, inks and watercolours, mixed media, drawing and more! |
Media In Year 8 Media Arts, we embark on a semester-long exploration of multimedia storytelling, engaging with a diverse array of media texts and production skills. You will study examples of media work, considering the representation of characters, and trends in media production. Through hands-on projects, you will also use DSLR cameras to bring your creative visions to life, refine your knowledge of camera shots, and master the art of Photoshop image editing. This unit also helps you develop important teamwork and problem solving skills, and you will work with your peers to film and edit a short film. “Media is very fun - we get to use the cameras and take lots of photos. My favourite task was going out around the school taking photos of lots of textures in nature” |
