What do these courses entail?
Italian This course is designed for students who have studied Italian in Year 8. The course content deals with the topics of food and dining, shopping, ‘things Italian’, Italian celebrations, sport, interests and pass-times. Students will be introduced to more complex sentence structures and grammar, focusing on how present tense verbs are conjugated. The content of the course will be balanced over the key areas of speaking, writing, listening and reading and will prepare students for further studies in Italian. |
Japanese This course is designed for interested and conscientious students who have successfully completed the Year 8 course. Students will further develop the basics of the language and learn more about the Japanese culture, so as to ensure a successful transition to a more challenging Year 10 course. The course content will embrace the learning outcomes and provide opportunities for students to become well-rounded and active users of the Japanese language. Examples of activities, include providing details to others about family members, personal likes and dislikes, telling the time and the days of the week, explaining daily routines and many other tasks. |
