"Religion has helped me to grow spiritually by learning about emotions and relationships and my place in the world"
What does the course entail?
The focus of the Year 9 Religious Education program at Kolbe begins with looking at the individual student. Students will explore spiritual experiences and the development of their own spirituality. It is hoped by examining their own individual spirituality, that students will see the ways Jesus works in their lives. The search for truth is a strong theme in Year 9 and throughout the course, students look at the ways in which the Catholic Church responds to the human desire for truth, through teachings, rituals and practices. Students will explore their own personal development, both emotionally and physically. The course provides an opportunity for students to recognise the changes occurring in their lives and become aware of the teachings and messages available to them on ways to cope during this time. In addition to the formal classroom instruction, Year 9 students will be required to complete eight hours of community service through participation in set projects. |
