In Year Ten, high expectations challenge our students to progress. Elective choices are tailored to allow students to start aligning their pathway for Senior School. Learning in Year 10 is future focused as we prepare our students for success in a changing world. We encourage Year 10 students to increasingly become agents of their own learning as we partner closely with families in preparing for Year 11 and Year 12.

course selection process
The College's Year 10 elective program offers students a range of subject choices across a number of learning areas. Students become more aware of where their gifts and talents lie and potential pathways in the senior school. The Year 10 elective program is designed to allow students to become more specialised and prepare for Year 11 pathway selections.
Current Year 9 students need to select TWO elective subject for Year 10 in the following year. Students will study two electives all year. This ensures that students are prepared for the WACE courses offered in Year 11 and 12.
When deciding on the selection of courses for next year, students should follow four simple steps:
Step 1: Research what you would like to do by reading this website.
Step 2: Discuss this with a parent or guardian.
Step 3: Select TWO subjects and TWO reserve subjects in order of preference. Enter your selections online using your access code and password. Please note that preference will be given to the students who submit their selections on time.
Step 4: Once you have completed your online selections, print the online subject selection receipt form, have it signed and place it in the subject selection box in Student Reception by the due date.
Students who do not submit their selection form by the due date will be arbitrarily placed in subjects where positions are available.
Time spent now carefully selecting Year 10 subjects will ensure changes in 2023 do not need to occur as these create disruption to the start of the year for our Year 10 students. Elective changes will be accommodated in Week 1 and 2 of Term 1 only. No changes will be made after this time.
Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate student choices, demand and timetable constraints will possibly necessitate the use of a student's reserve choices.
Unfortunately it may not be possible to run all listed elective subjects. Courses will only run if they fit the timetable grid and are supported with sufficient numbers. The College reserves the right to withdraw any course offered.
Student are asked to read the course descriptions with care and consult with parents and subject teachers to ensure choices are based upon informed decisions.
